Howrah, 21 November (H.S.): West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose, as part of the Jaltarang programme, met with the common people on Friday. Arriving in rural Howrah via the waterway, the Governor not only toured the villages in a toto but also interacted with the people and even had tea and snacks at small shops. Seeing the Governor so closely, the locals were moved and excited.
Whenever there is news of unrest or disturbance anywhere in the state, Governor C.V. Ananda Bose has been rushing to the scene to listen to people directly. He has also been seen walking through the market. Inspired by the idea of understanding the people and empathizing with their problems, the Jaltarang programme was recently announced, under which the Governor will visit villages along the Ganges River by waterway and listen to the public's problems directly.
As part of this programme, the Governor arrived in Howrah by boat from Babughat on Friday. From there, he boarded a toto and reached Nazirganj village.
He had a long conversation with the villagers, listening to their problems, and assuring them of solutions.
He also enjoyed tea and chops while sitting in a small shop in the village, which delighted the villagers. He then visited the local temple and offered prayers.
According to sources, after Nazirganj, the Governor will visit Sankrail and Bajbaj on Friday, where he will similarly meet with the local population and learn about their problems.
