
New Delhi, 21 November (H.S.): The Ministry of Minority Affairs is set to convene a National Haj Conference in Mumbai on Saturday to meticulously review and strengthen preparations for Haj 2026. The high-level meeting aims to ensure a seamless, world-class pilgrimage experience for the more than 175,000 Indians who undertake the sacred journey annually.
The conference, to be chaired by Ministry Secretary Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, will bring together the executive officers of all State and Union Territory Haj Committees. The primary objective is to enhance cooperation between the regional bodies and the central Haj Committee of India (HCoI), creating a unified and efficient operational framework.
This proactive review underscores the government's unwavering commitment to providing a safe, smooth, and dignified experience for every pilgrim.Discussions will center on a comprehensive agenda designed to scrutinize every facet of the pilgrimage.
Key focus areas include the meticulous planning of accommodation and logistics, strengthening transportation and baggage handling protocols, and evaluating the training modules for Haj assistants and inspectors to ensure disciplined and effective service delivery.
Furthermore, medical preparedness will be a critical component of the review, encompassing comprehensive health screenings, vaccination processes aligned with Saudi Arabian guidelines, and the strategic deployment of medical teams.
The conference is expected to identify potential gaps, streamline operational processes, and fortify inter-agency collaboration, ensuring the highest standards of safety and care for the forthcoming Haj season.
