Varanasi, 21 Nov (HS): The recruitment process
for Sonbhadra and Jaunpur districts was completed on Friday, the last day of
the Army (Agniveer) GD recruitment rally, which was being conducted under tight
security at the Ranbankura Stadium in the cantonment area of Varanasi, Uttar
Pradesh. According to military officials, a total of 978 candidates were called
for this event. Of these, 907 were from Jaunpur and only 71 from Sonbhadra. A
total of 803 candidates participated in the race at Ranbankura Stadium, of
which 554 were declared successful.
This lowest attendance of Sonbhadra in
recruitment was not only very low compared to other districts, but it also
remains a matter of concern for the Army Recruitment Office. According to Army
Recruitment Director Colonel Shailesh Kumar, today's recruitment process was
conducted peacefully and systematically by an 11-member team led by Colonel
Manas Mahapatra. Meanwhile, medical examinations of candidates who previously
passed the race are ongoing. He said that on the final day, candidates from
Shahganj, Badlapur, Machhlishahr, Sadar, Madiyahu, Kerakat in Jaunpur, and
Ghorawal, Robertsganj, and Duddhi tehsils in Sonbhadra came to participate in
the selection process.
