
Bhubaneswar, 20 November (H.S.): Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel H. D. Kumaraswamy on Thursday visited the famed Konark Sun Temple, spending nearly an hour observing the intricate stone carvings and architectural brilliance of the 13th-century monument.
The minister, accompanied by his wife, toured the UNESCO World Heritage Site with licensed guide Bisweswar Das, who briefed him on the temple’s history, sculptural mastery, and cultural significance. Kumaraswamy also visited the on-site museum and the interpretation centre, where he took a keen interest in the artefacts and ongoing preservation initiatives. Konark Tourism Officer Amiya Kumar Sethi and other senior officials were present during the visit. The local administration had put in place tight security arrangements to ensure a smooth tour for the Union Minister during his Odisha visit.
