
Noida, 20 Nov (HS): In the Rabupura police
station area, after the roof of a house collapsed while opening the shuttering,
a dozen labourers were rescued from debris during the rescue and relief work
that continued from yesterday afternoon till this morning. They were admitted
to the hospital for treatment where four labourers died. Some labourers were
discharged from the hospital during treatment while others are still undergoing
treatment. In this case, the senior sub-inspector of Raghupur police station has
registered a case against the person building the house under the section of
unintentional murder. The police is searching for him.
Sudhir Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner of
Police (Greater Noida), stated that while the specific reason of the collapse
is being investigated, preliminary findings point to structural
vulnerability. A thorough investigation
will be carried out to assess whether safety measures were followed at the
construction site. The contractor and
building owner's statements will also be recorded. According to Kumar, the owner is currently on
the run.

Singh stated that a house belonging to Mahabir, resident of village Nagla Hukum
in the Rabupura police station area, was under construction. Yesterday
afternoon, the shuttering of the lintel was being dismantled, when the roof
collapsed completely. A dozen laborers were buried under the debris. He stated
that the rescue and relief work, which began yesterday afternoon, continued
until this morning. During this time, 12 laborers were pulled out of the
debris. He said that the names of the labourers are Zeeshan son of Zahid, age
22 years, Shakira son of Sarfaraz, age 38 years, Kamil son of Sarfaraz, age 20
years, Nadeem son of Nizamuddin, age 25 years, Danish son of Aashiq, age 21
years, residents of Aligarh district, Fardeen son of Sarfaraz, age 18 years,
resident of Jewar, Shakeel son of Sarfaraz, age 38 years, Kamil son of
Sarfaraz, age 20 years, Nadeem son of Nizamuddin, age 30 years, resident of
Jewar and Zeeshan son of Zahid, age 22 years, resident of Jewar. He said that
during treatment, the doctors declared Zeeshan, Shakir, Nadeem and Kamil dead.

Senior Sub-Inspector Ashwani Yadav of Rabupura police station has filed a case
against Mahavir, who was constructing the house, under Section 105 of the
Indian Penal Code. He stated that the accused is absconding. Several police
teams have been deployed to arrest him. According to legal experts, Section 105
of the IPC is imposed for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Under this
section, anyone who causes the death of another person, not with the intention
of killing, but through negligence or by committing an act likely to cause
death, can be punished with life imprisonment or imprisonment for 5 to 10 years
and a fine.
It is reported that the village of Nagla Kumkum
Singh is among the villages to be displaced for the second phase of
construction of the Noida International Airport. Residents here are
constructing buildings overnight on the surrounding land, hoping to receive
maximum compensation if displaced. It is reported that the houses being built
to receive compensation are being constructed using substandard materials. The
houses are being built only as structures. It is being reported that an
organized gang is operating this illegal operation in collusion with the
district administration and Yamuna Development Authority officials. Upon
receiving information about this incident, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh also
arrived at the scene and pledged to ensure appropriate compensation for the
injured and deceased. He also promised to complain about this matter to the
Chief Minister.
