Guwahati, 20 November (HS): Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Assam’s Anganwadi Centres, once marked by broken structures and inadequate facilities, are undergoing a remarkable transformation, giving rise to hope for thousands of children and mothers across the state. The shift from dilapidated buildings and poor infrastructure to modern, child-friendly centres has positioned the revamped Anganwadi network as a vital pillar of early childhood development, CM shared by social media.
In several districts, the newly developed Model Anganwadi Centres now feature improved classrooms, dedicated educators, safe play areas and better learning materials. Officials highlight that these centres have become crucial spaces where children can learn, grow and receive essential nutrition in a nurturing environment.
He said, “There was a time when children sat on the floors and mothers hoped for more. Today, this Model AWC stands as a symbol of care with better classrooms, dedicated teachers and support for every mother and child.”
He emphasize that investments made in the early years contribute significantly to building stronger, healthier generations, reaffirming the government’s commitment to child development and community welfare.
