
Mau, 20 Nov (HS): A major accident occurred when
a passenger-laden e-rickshaw collided with a roadways bus in the city Kotwali
police station area of Mau district in Uttar Pradesh. Three women were killed
and six others were injured in the accident.
According to the police, passengers were traveling
from Paharpura to Pyarepura on Thursday morning in an e-rickshaw. The
e-rickshaw had just reached Mata Pokhara when a roadways bus belonging to the
Azamgarh depot came from behind and hit the e-rickshaw on the road. Three
women, Mazhabi Ansari, 65, Noori, 30, and Shaheen, 33, died in the accident,
and six others, including four children, were seriously injured. Those admitted
to the district hospital include Jim Rafiq, Shahid, Sania, Somaiya, Anbiya, and
Rokaiya. They were attending a wedding in Bulkipura, under the South Tola
police station in Mau city. All of them are residents of Salempur town in
Deoria district. Taking the news of the accident seriously, District Magistrate
Praveen Mishra and Superintendent of Police Ilmaran have taken charge of the
district hospital to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured.
District Magistrate Praveen Mishra said that for
proper and better treatment of the injured, if required, they will be sent to a
higher centre. Superintendent of Police Ilamaran ji said that the roadways bus
has been taken into custody, an investigation will be conducted and legal
action will also be taken. Currently, the administration is busy making all the
arrangements for the proper treatment of the injured.
