Bijnor, 02
Nov (HS): Police reported on Sunday that the remains of a 19-year-old male and
a 15-year-old girl, both missing for five days, were discovered in an orchard
along the Bijnor-Chandpur road with rope marks around their necks. According to
Circle Officer Gautam Rai, Nikhil (19) and Chanchal (15) are Daranagar
residents. Chanchal resided in the house
just across from Nikhil.
Their dead
were discovered in a mango grove in Lakkhiwala village on Saturday night, he
added.
Nikhil and
Chanchal had gone missing on October 27, and their family had reported them
missing. Rai stated that the remains
were discovered when police were looking for them.
According to
Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Jha, both victims had rope traces around
their necks, indicating that they had committed suicide. The rope eventually snapped, and the bodies
fell to the ground. Police claimed the remains seemed to be two to three days
old and slightly decayed. Wild creatures ate parts of the girl's hand. The
remains have been sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation is
ongoing, according to officials.
