Silchar, 02 November (HS): Acting on a reliable input, Cachar Police conducted a pre-dawn raid at Khilogram, Berenga Part-III, Silchar and busted an illegal cow slaughter operation.

Three butchers were arrested during the raid including Rahul Hussain Laskar (31), Faizul Ahmed Mazumder (47) and Abdul Karim Laskar alias Bapin (38).

Police recovered approximately 80 kg of suspected beef, one dao (sharp weapon), one cow head and one cow skin from the site. All three accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act and other applicable laws.----------
