
Guwahati, 02 November (HS): The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to organize its first-ever air show in the Northeast region, dedicated to the legendary Assamese singer Zubeen Garg. The spectacular event will be held on November 9 at Lachit Ghat, Guwahati, where the skies will come alive to the tune of Zubeen’s famous song “Mayabini Raatir Bukut Geet.”
Addressing a press conference in Dispur, Air Marshals Surat Singh and Ravi Kota informed that the show will be organized as part of the celebrations of the 93rd Air Force Day. The air display will take place from 12 noon to 2 pm, featuring around 75 aircraft, including Rafale, MiG and Sukhoi jets.
They further informed that aircraft rehearsals will be conducted for 4–5 days prior to the main event in Guwahati. Students from schools and colleges, as well as residents from old-age homes, have been invited to attend the show.
Spectators will be able to view the aerial display from the new park at Uzan Bazar, while arrangements have also been made for guests at the Ashwaklanta Temple premises. Guwahati residents will additionally be able to enjoy the air show from their own homes.
DGP Harmeet Singh stated that elaborate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the event.
