Kolkata, 19 November (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday paid her heartfelt tribute to the legendary music director, lyricist, and composer Salil Chowdhuri on X (formerly Twitter) as the centenary of his birth began.

In her post, the Chief Minister wrote, On the auspicious beginning of the birth centenary of the legendary music director, lyricist, and composer Salil Chowdhuri, I offer my deepest respects to him.

She further wrote, Every song, every note, and every word he composed still awakens a new vibration within us.

Mamata Banerjee also noted that we honored him with respect at this year's Kolkata International Film Festival, honoring his immortal works.
