Odia Youth Dies in Ghana; Mortal Remains Brought Back Home with Jay Panda’s Intervention

Bhubaneswar, 9 October (H.S.): With the efforts of BJP National Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda, the mortal remains of Odia youth Parmeswar Nayak, who died in Ghana, were brought back to his native village today. Panda had written to the Indian Ambassador in Ghana, requesting arrangements for the repatriation of the body.

Parmeswar Nayak, son of Payodhar Nayak from Bardataila village under Rajkanika police limits in Kendrapara district, was employed by a private company in Ghana. He reportedly died of a cardiac arrest, and the company authorities informed his family about the incident.

Following the tragedy, Parmeswar’s wife sought Panda's intervention to facilitate the return of the mortal remains to their village for the last rites. Responding promptly, Panda wrote to the Indian Embassy in Ghana, urging officials to arrange for the repatriation of the body and ensure that all pending dues were released to the bereaved family.

When the mortal remains reached the village today, an atmosphere of grief enveloped the entire area. On behalf of Panda’s office, BJP candidate from Aali Assembly constituency, Krishna Chandra Panda, visited Bardataila to pay his last respects and offered condolences to the grieving family.

Baijayant Panda expressed his gratitude to the Indian Embassy for their swift and coordinated action in facilitating the repatriation.
