New Delhi, October 4(HS): Public sector enterprise MOIL Limited, the country’s leading manganese ore producer, has achieved its best-ever monthly output, producing 1.52 lakh tonnes of manganese ore in September 2025 — a 3.8 percent increase over the same month last year.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Steel, this marks MOIL’s highest-ever production for any September. The company’s output during the second quarter of the current financial year (FY 2025–26) stood at 4.42 lakh tonnes, reflecting a robust year-on-year growth of 10.3 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.
MOIL also reported sales of 3.53 lakh tonnes during the quarter, up 18.6 percent year-on-year, driven by strong market demand and efficient supply chain execution. The ministry added that exploratory core drilling reached 5,314 metres in September, representing a remarkable 46 percent rise over September 2024 — highlighting the company’s growing focus on exploration and long-term resource development.
During the second quarter, MOIL carried out a record 21,035 metres of exploratory core drilling, its best-ever for any quarter, achieving a 4.1 percent growth compared to the same period a year earlier.
Commenting on the performance, MOIL Chairman and Managing Director Ajit Kumar Saxena said, “The growth across key parameters underlines MOIL’s commitment to strengthening operational excellence and ensuring long-term sustainability.
With continued focus on exploration across all operating mines, MOIL is well-positioned to enhance its reserves and maintain leadership in the manganese sector.”
