Chennai, 4 October (H.S.) : The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) announced a sponsored travel arrangement for attendees of the 'Rock on Harris 3.0' music concert scheduled for today (Saturday) at the YMCA Grounds, which is conveniently located near the Nandanam Metro Station. The sponsor for the complimentary Metro rides on the event day is Noise and Grains.
According to a communique issued by the CMRL, the concert event ticket will serve a dual purpose as a Metro travel pass. Each unique QR/barcode ticket will function as both the entry pass to the concert and a Metro ticket, valid for one round trip on Saturday. Ticket holders will be able to travel from any Metro station across Chennai to the Nandanam Metro Station and back by simply scanning the same QR/barcode at the automatic fare collection (AFC) gates.
To manage the anticipated large crowd returning after the conclusion of the concert, the CMRL has confirmed that Metro services will be extended from the Nandanam Metro Station. The last service heading towards the Wimco Nagar Depot Metro will depart from Nandanam Metro at 12:00 am on Sunday, while the last train destined for the Airport Metro will depart at 12:15 am.
