Guwahati (Assam), 04 October (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that the state has embarked on a significant agricultural revolution, benefiting lakhs of farmers through irrigation facilities.
Highlighting the government’s initiatives, Sarma stated that over the past few years, nearly 9 lakh hectares of agricultural land have been brought under irrigation through various schemes. This has not only supported farmers in enhancing their crop production but also ensured increased income for them.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that these measures will contribute substantially to strengthening Assam’s agricultural economy and boosting farmers’ livelihoods.
