Mumbai, 04 Oct (HS): Heavy to very heavy rains have

been forecast between October 4 and 7. The rains will be accompanied by

strong winds between 45 km/hr to 65 km/hr. The Indian Meteorological

Department has alerted 14 states, including Maharashtra.

The farmers in Maharashtra, who are already

suffering due to flooding, may have to face further losses due to the fresh

alert. ‘Shakti’ Cyclone and three low pressure areas may hit the eastern and

western coasts. Heavy to very heavy rains have been predicted in Maharashtra,

Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh,

Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

and Coast Guards, besides the local administration, are ready to help people in

any difficult situation.

In Maharashtra, heavy to heavy rains may hit the

Konkan, Vidarbha, and Marathwada regions. The rivers in these regions may

overflow. The monsoon may withdraw by October 12.
