Navi Mumbai, 31 Oct (HS): Indian cricket legend
Sunil Gavaskar made a different assurance that he will sing a duet with Jemimah
Rodrigues, if India wins the Women’s World Cup 2025.
Talking to the media Gavaskar appreciated her
contribution in defeating Australia in the semi-final on Thursday, he said, “if
she is ready I will sing a duet with her. She will play the guitar and I will
sing a song”. He recalled that Jamimah played guitar when both presented a
Hindi film song ‘Kya Huwa Tera Wada…’ during the BCCI Award function in 2024.
This is possible, if she is ready to sing with an old man, Gavaskar added with
a smile.
Gavaskar appreciated her fielding, besides batting.
She was involved in two run outs to prevent Australia to reach a score of 350
or above. She is capable of of handling any difficult situation.
Indian team is the biggest claimant of the Trophy,
and has an advantage of playing on the home ground. Her contribution of 127 not
out and partnership of 167 with Harmanprit Kaur was very important, Gavaskar
