New Delhi, 31 October (H.S.): In a notable display of bipartisanship, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his prayers and well wishes to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Raut, following the announcement that Sanjay Raut would be taking a temporary hiatus from public life due to health concerns.

The Prime Minister took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to convey his message. In a post, Mr. Modi said, Praying for your speedy recovery and good health, Sanjay Raut Ji. @rautsanjay61.

The expression of solicitude from the Prime Minister came shortly after Sanjay Raut, a prominent and often sharp critic of the BJP-led government, disclosed his need to step back from his political activities.

Earlier on Friday, Raut informed his supporters and party workers through a social media post that he had been grappling with serious health issues and was currently undergoing treatment.

In his message Raut conveyed his gratitude for the unwavering support he has received and explained that physicians have advised him to rest and avoid public appearances and gatherings for the time being. He expressed his confidence that he would recover and return to active political life soon.

Sanjay Raut is a key figure in Maharashtra's political landscape and serves as the executive editor of Saamana, the Shiv Sena's newspaper. As one of the closest aides to former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, his temporary withdrawal is seen as a significant event, particularly with important civic body elections on the horizon.
