Seven state transport employees suspended for working under influence of liquor


Mumbai, 30 Oct (HS): Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has warned

that any State Transport employee found drunk while on duty, will face stern

action. The warning has been issued following a large scale complaints received

against the employees of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation

(MSRTC). Sarnaik is also the chairman of MSRTC.

Seven

employees were found under the influence of liquor during a drive carried out

by the state transport authorities on October 28. Breath analyser tests for 719

drivers, 524 conductors, and 458 technical workers were conducted. The seven

employees found guilty include one driver and four technical staff members.

They have been suspended with immediate effect.
