Delhi, 3 October (H.S.): FIFA revealed Trionda as the official ball for the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Designed by Adidas, the ball symbolizes the unity of the three host countries through a striking tricolor pattern of red, blue, and green, representing Canada, the U.S., and Mexico respectively. Key national emblems—a maple leaf, an eagle, and stars—are intricately embossed on its surface, with the design centered around a triangle denoting their partnership.
Trionda boasts several technological innovations, including deep seams for enhanced flight stability and embossed surface textures improving grip under humid or wet conditions. Embedded within the ball is a state-of-the-art motion sensor chip transmitting ball movement data 500 times per second to support the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, enabling quicker and more accurate officiating decisions. This World Cup edition, the first to feature 48 teams across 16 venues, marks the largest tournament format to date.
The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with over 4.5 million fans from 216 countries entering the ticket presale draw. The official group stage draw is scheduled for December 5 in Washington.
Trionda’s design and technology reflect both the cultural heritage of its hosts and the demands of modern football, promising to deliver a seamless playing experience across diverse climates and heights of North America.
