Oct (HS): Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, efforts to
encourage private investment in the field of higher education and to establish
quality educational institutions are continuously gaining momentum. In this
sequence, on Wednesday, operating authority and letter of intent were provided
to three private universities. In these, operating authority (Letter of
Authorization) was provided to Radha Govind University, Chandausi (District
Sambhal) and Bodhisattva University, Barabanki. At the same time, 'Letter of
Intent' was handed over to Anglo Sanskrit College, Fatehpur, the sponsor of
Thakur Yugraj Singh University, Fatehpur.
State Higher
Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyaya handed over the operating authorizations
and letters of intent to these universities at his residence in Lucknow. On
this occasion, he said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, the state government is continuously striving to expand higher
education institutions, provide skill-based education, and provide quality
learning opportunities for youth at the local level. He said that private
universities will play a complementary role in the state's education landscape,
providing advanced education, research, and employment opportunities to local
youth.
The name of
Radha Govind University, Chandausi has been included at serial number 52 in Schedule-2
of the Act under the Uttar Pradesh Private University (Fifth Amendment)
Ordinance, 2025 and the name of Bodhisattva University, Barabanki has been
included at serial number 50 under the Third Amendment Ordinance, 2025.
Notifications and operating authorizations have been issued by the government
for the operation of these universities.
In the
'Letter of Intent' issued by the state government for the proposed Thakur
Yugraj Singh University in Fatehpur district, it has been directed that the
sponsoring institution will have to create a permanent endowment fund of Rs 5
crore, duly acquire a minimum of 20 acres (urban area) or 50 acres (rural area)
of land, and construct a floor area of 24 thousand square meters and install
educational equipment, furniture and laboratory materials worth a minimum of Rs
2 crore in it. On this occasion, Principal Secretary M.P. Agarwal, Secretary
Amrit Tripathi, Special Secretary Girijesh Tyagi and university officials were
present.
