Mumbai, 29 Oct (HS): The Maharashtra Government has

approved procuring Smart Anganwadi Kits for 315 Anganwadis in Raigad district.

The Aganwadis are conducted under the ICDS (Integrated Child Development Scheme)

of the Women and Child Development Department. These Anganwadis will not be

modernised as ‘Smart Anganwadis’, informed Minister for Women and Child

Development, Aditi Tatkare.

Every Anganwadi will be equipped with literature and

other material to maintain quality education, nutrition, cleanliness and other

subjects related to the development of children, Tatkare said. The Anganwadi workers

will also help the pregnant and lactating mothers in maintaining their health

and nutrition level.
