
Mumbai, 29 Oct (HS): The Maharashtra
Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) recovered literature relating to operation of AK-47
rifle and preparing bombs published by Al-Qaeda magazine from the residence of
a terrorist Zuber Hangargekar (35). Following the pictures of the literature
Pune police arrested Zuber and his colleague near Pone Station on Wednesday.
They are being interrogated for further information about their activities and
other persons involved.
According to an ATS officer, a Software
Engineer, Zuber was arrested in Kondhwa region of Pune. He is a resident of
Solapur. He was remanded to police custody up to November 4. Zuber was working
with a software company in Kalyani Nagar./ He recently visited Chennai and then
met one of his friends in Pune, who was arrested on suspicion at the Pune
Railway Station on Wednesday.
During a search operation at Zuber’s
residence interpretation of Osama Bin Laden’s speech, copies of Inspire
Magazine providing information about AK-47 rifle use and preparing bombs were
recovered. Zuber informed the police
that many youths and children are in his contact and ready to become Al-Qaeda
members.
Zubin is a highly educated youth and is
employed in a IT company for a lucrative pay package. Further investigation
into his connections with terrorist groups is in progress. Police are also
searching his electronic gadgets.
