Oct (HS): A man was killed and nearly six others were injured after a fast car
collided with numerous vehicles after losing control on a flyover here,
according to police on Wednesday. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police
(City) Manish Shandilya, the tragedy happened when a speeding automobile
collided with numerous motorcyclists on the Chaufatka flyover under Cantonment
police station boundaries, killing one rider and injuring six others. Rohit
(36), son of Ravi Prakash Kushwaha, was riding a motorbike at the time of the
accident. According to the officer, the injured include two men and a woman,
all of whom have been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The
automobile driver left the site of the collision, and attempts are ongoing to
track him down using CCTV evidence. The body has been submitted for a
post-mortem examination, the police said. Earlier, this month in the midst of a crowded
Diwali celebration, a speeding Jaguar ran over eight people and collided with
other automobiles. Before crashing, the
luxury car, purportedly owned by the family of famed local sweets firm Kamdhenu
Sweets, collided with two four-wheelers and five two-wheelers. One man Pradeep Patel, an electrician by
trade, died on the scene, while eight others were sent to a hospital with
significant injuries, including two youngsters in critical condition.
