Chennai, 28 October (H.S.) : Tamil Nadu has cemented its position as India's premier electronics manufacturing hub following the Union Government’s sanction of seven major projects under the Electronic Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). The State has attracted a staggering nearly 77% of the total national investment approved, demonstrating a massive surge in industrial growth.
BJP State President Nainar Nagenthran praised the move, giving full credit to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The initiative involves a total allocation of Rs 5,532 crore for the approved projects across the country, with Tamil Nadu securing approximately Rs 4,200 crore.
The ECMS is specifically designed to significantly boost electronics production and create large-scale employment opportunities. Mr. Nagenthran highlighted the profound impact of this focus, stating that the substantial investment would lead to job creation for thousands, propelling Tamil Nadu to a giant leap forward in the electronics manufacturing sector.
He underscored the Union government’s commitment to the State's industrial development, which he described as a matter of great pride. He also thanked PM Modi and Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw.
As an update, the state’s current momentum is expected to accelerate, ensuring its status as a national leader in this critical sector. Mr. Nagenthran expressed confidence in the future, adding, “With such a dynamic and progressive Union government at the helm, Tamil Nadu is poised to emerge as a national leader in electronics manufacturing.
The dream of a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat) is now within reach.” This development marks a significant step towards achieving the national goal of self-reliance through advanced indigenous production.
