Patna, 28 October (H.S.): Jan Suraaj Party founder and political strategist Prashant Kishor found himself at the centre of a controversy on Tuesday after it emerged that he is registered as a voter in both Bihar and West Bengal.
According to official election records, Kishor is listed as a voter in West Bengal at 121, Kalighat Road, the address of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) headquarters in Kolkata’s Bhabanipur Assembly constituency, represented by Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.
An election official in West Bengal confirmed that Kishor’s polling station is shown as St. Helen School on B. Ranishankari Lane.
Kishor, who hails from Bihar’s Gopalganj district and launched his Jan Suraaj movement in the state in 2021, has yet to respond to the development. The revelation has raised questions about possible violations under election laws that prohibit multiple voter registrations.
