(HS): A complaint of sexual exploitation against a police constable has been

filed in Nagpur. The complaint comes on the backdrop of alleged involvement of

a PSI in raping a lady doctor in Phaltan. A 23-year-old girl approached the

Commissioner of Police with her complaint against a police constable posted at

at the Police Headquarters in Nagpur.

The girl, who is

running a mess came in contact with the police constable who was a regular

customer of her mess. Gradually both established physical contacts on the

assurance by the Police Constable to marry her. According to the complainant he

was sexually exploiting her for about one a half year, but refused to marry.

Her complaint

with Nagpur’s Kapilnagar Police Station was ignored compelling her to approach

the Police Commissioner’s office. The accused, Umesh Shelke (26) is a native of

Manora in Washim district and joined the police force two years ago. The CP’s

office referred the case to Bharosa Cell. Meanwhile, Umesh moved the court for

an anticipatory bail, which was rejected. Since then he is absconding.
