New Delhi, 27 October (H.S.): Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated on Monday that Delhi is celebrating the sacred festival of Chhath Mahaparv with a level of grandeur and devotion never seen before. She affirmed that her government has worked to ensure a smooth, safe, and divine environment for every devotee and pilgrim.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister noted that the banks of the Yamuna River are not only illuminated by the faith of the Purvanchal community but have also become a symbol of Delhi's transformation. The Chhath prasad is one of the most beautiful expressions of our culture, she wrote.

When mothers and sisters lovingly arrange the offerings in the dala (bamboo basket), that moment becomes a living embodiment of devotion, restraint, and dedication. The Chhath prasad is not just food; it is a part of faith that brings a message of peace, contentment, and well-being to every home.

Chief Minister Gupta also highlighted her administration's commitment to cleaning the Yamuna, describing the effort as a movement of faith and resolve. She detailed several measures taken, including tapping traditional drains to stop sewage from flowing directly into the river, reviving old Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), and rapidly constructing new, state-of-the-art STP projects. After decades, Delhi has received a new drainage system, she added.

The Yamuna is our identity, and we are working systematically to ensure its cleanliness.
