
Malda, 27 October (H.S.): The body of a young man was recovered on Monday morning in Enayatpur Nawada village, under Manikchak police station of Malda district. A rope was found hanging from a nearby tree, and the young man's body was lying beneath it. The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Amit Choudhary, a resident of Kagmari, under Englishbazar police station area.
According to police and local sources, Amit was married three years ago to Shyamali Choudhary, a resident of Enayatpur Nawada, Manikchak. The couple has a one-year-old son. A few days ago, Amit had visited his in-laws' house with his wife, where they participated in a Mansa Geet prograym together on Sunday night.
On Monday morning, Amit's body was found under a tree near his in-laws' house. A rope was seen hanging from a branch.
The deceased's family alleged that Amit did not commit suicide, but that his in-laws beat him to death by strangulating him with a rope. Meanwhile, the in-laws have completely denied this allegation.
Wife Shyamali Chaudhary says, Sunday night, we both went to listen to music together. I returned home around 11 p.m. He said he would be back a little later. But he didn't return that night. In the morning, I received the news of his death. I don't understand what happened.
On information, the police from Manikchak police station arrived at the scene, took the body into custody, and sent it for postmortem to determine the cause of death. The police are investigating all aspects.
