Mumbai, 27 Oct (HS): Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik informed that the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (NSRTC) has planned to ply more than 1150 additional buses for the annual Kartiki Ekadashi Yatra at Pandharpur scheduled on November 2.

The buses will be

available from Pandharpur’s Chandrabhaga Bus Stand from October 28 to November

3. On the 17 platforms arrangements for about 1,000 buses have been made.

Adequate space for stay for the staff, about 120 in number, has also been made.

‘Hirkani’ centres for the pregnant and lactating mothers have been marked at

the bus stand, Sarnaik said.

If 40 or more

travellers from any village apply together, buses from that village to

Pandharpur can be arranged. The free travel facilities for senior citizens

above 75 years of age, and 50 percent concession to women will be available

during the Yatra, Sarnaik said.

Last year during the

Kartiki Yatra, MSRTC earned a revenue of about Rs 6 crore by transporting 3.72

crore travellers through 1055 additional buses.
