Mumbai, 21 Oct (HS): Maharashtra is facing serious threat, as the Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains across the state for four days from October 22. The people who already suffered heavy losses during the monsoon this year are worried over the fresh predictions. The farmers have been advised to protect the crops and harvested produce, whatever is left.
Heavy rains have been
forecast in Konkan, Goa, Marathwada and Central Maharashtra, as a result of low
pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
The IMD has issued
alert for the people in following regions:
Oct 22: Yellow alert
for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Dharashiv, Latur, Nanded,
Yavatmal Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Buldana.
Oct 23: Yellow alert
for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur,
Dharashiv, Latur, Beed, Nanded, Washim, Yavatmal, Wardha, Chandrapur, Gondia
and Gadchiroli.
Oct 24: Extensive Rains in Raigad, Ratnagiri,
Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Pune, Nagar, Solapur, Beed, Dharashiv,
Latur, Nanded, Washim, Buldana, Akola, Amravati, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur,
Chandrapur and Gadchiroli.
Oct 25: Yellow Alert
for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Nagar, Sambhajinagar, Beed,
Dharashiv, and entire Vidarbha region.
The Government machinery is ready to take immediate action in any emergent siutaion.
