Delhi, 21 October (H.S.): Domestic stock markets will remain closed on Tuesday, October 21, for the festival of Diwali and will also be shut on Wednesday, October 22, for Diwali Balipratipada. This marks a two-day trading holiday for the Indian financial markets.In line with tradition, a special one-hour symbolic Muhurat Trading session will be conducted today from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM.

This auspicious session allows investors to make token investments on Diwali.Normal trading will resume on Thursday, October 23, and Friday, October 24. With the subsequent weekend closure, the markets will have only three full trading days this week.

According to circulars from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), all segments, including equity, derivatives, and commodities, will be inactive during the two-day holiday.

For the remainder of 2025, the markets will be closed on November 5 for Guru Nanak Jayanti and December 25 for Christmas.
