DUBAI, 21 October (H.S.): The world's tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa, was brilliantly illuminated on Monday evening to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. The iconic 828-meter structure showcased a spectacular light show and projected a special message in English and Hindi, wishing the United Arab Emirates' diverse community joy, harmony, and prosperity.
Real estate developer Emaar shared a video of the captivating display on social media.This year's city-wide celebrations were further distinguished by special performances from the Dubai Police Band, which became a major attraction.
The band performed at two prominent events: the official inauguration of 'Noor: The Festival of Lights' at Al Seef and a large community celebration organized by the Indian diaspora.
At the community festival, the Dubai Police Band enthralled an estimated 10,000 attendees with a stirring rendition of the classic Bollywood song, Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jaana Sanam.
The event, organized by FOI Events under the patronage of the Indian Consulate in Dubai, also featured a vibrant rangoli competition with over 100 registered teams and a folk dance competition showcasing participants from 15 different Indian states.
Consul General Satish Kumar Sivan praised the city's enthusiastic support for the festivities. Nowhere else in the world but Dubai is this possible, he remarked at the Al Seef event. This is the kind of love, that is the kind of inclusivity that this leadership shows us.
