Raipur, Oct 21 (HS): The Central Government has formally approved the appointment of Ashutosh Singh, a 2012-batch IPS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

According to the order issued on Tuesday by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Government of India, Singh will hold the position for a period of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The order also instructed the State Government of Chhattisgarh to relieve Ashutosh Singh within three weeks from the date of issue, enabling him to assume his new responsibilities at the CBI headquarters promptly.
