Tamilisai Soundararajan Criticizes TN CM for Not Wishing Diwali, Alleges Anti-Hindu Discrimination

Chennai, 21 October (H.S.) : BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday strongly criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for not extending Diwali wishes to the majority of the population celebrating the festival, alleging that the state is discriminating against Hindus.

Following Diwali celebrations at her residence in Chennai, Soundararajan told ANI that it is very unfortunate that in Tamil Nadu, celebrating Hindu festivals is viewed as not aligning with secularism. She stated, Tamil Nadu is the only state where the CM is not wishing the majority of the people who are celebrating Diwali. So, why are they discriminating against Hindus?

Soundararajan directly addressed the Chief Minister, saying, You are the CM of Tamil Nadu, so many people are celebrating and it is unpardonable that the CM is discriminating against the Hindus and not wishing. His pseudo-secular face has been exposed... People will answer in 2026, referring to the upcoming assembly elections.

Separately, Union Minister L. Murugan also slammed the Chief Minister, stating that while the CM may be the DMK president, as the CM of the state, he should wish the people for the Hindu festival. Murugan predicted that the people of the state would defeat the DMK in the 2026 election.

Meanwhile, amidst the political statements, devotees across the state were seen offering prayers, including at the Malaikottai Arulmigu Thayumanaswamy Temple in Tiruchirappalli on the occasion of Diwali.
