Manesar, October 2 (HS): Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav on Thursday laid the foundation stone for ‘Namo Van’ at Manesar, Haryana, as part of the nationwide celebrations of Wildlife Week 2025 (October 2–8). Haryana Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh joined him on the occasion.

A plantation drive under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ was also carried out to encourage public participation in ecological conservation. The event brought together school students, forest officials, journalists, social workers, and citizens, with several individuals recognized for their notable contributions to wildlife and forest conservation.

Highlighting the significance of Wildlife Week, which is observed annually across India, Shri Yadav stressed the importance of biodiversity preservation and spreading awareness about protecting the nation’s flora and fauna.

This year, the week-long celebration is being observed under the theme Sewa Parv, reflecting the collective responsibility to serve and protect nature.
