Bhubaneswar, 2 October (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan extended their greetings to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the occasion of its Foundation Day and centenary year.
CM Majhi, in his message, lauded the glorious tradition of the RSS and called upon citizens to take a pledge to carry forward its values for the next century while working towards the vision of a developed India. He recalled that the RSS was founded by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in 1925 on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami with the farsighted principle of “nation-building through character-building.” Describing the RSS as not merely an organization but a renaissance of eternal national consciousness, he noted that volunteers had upheld the spirit of sacrifice by contributing during the freedom struggle and in times of national crises.
Highlighting the century-long journey of the RSS, the Chief Minister said that the organization’s guiding motto has been “One India, Supreme India.” Through its shakhas, volunteers imbibed discipline, dedication, and selfless service, which they implemented across all sections of society. He further emphasized that the RSS has consistently embodied discipline, service, and patriotism, strengthening social harmony and sacrifice. Referring to the “Panch Parivartan” (social harmony, family awakening, environmental conservation, civic responsibility, and Swadeshi), Majhi underlined that these ideals are crucial as India moves towards becoming a global leader.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, in his message, extended greetings to millions of RSS volunteers on the occasion of the organization completing its centenary year. He stated that over the last 100 years, the RSS has made unparalleled contributions not only towards social upliftment and empowerment but also to the unity, integrity, and prosperity of the nation. Praising the unwavering dedication and commitment of volunteers, he said the centenary year is not just a celebration of past achievements but also an opportunity for inspiration and guidance for the future.
Both leaders expressed heartfelt gratitude to RSS volunteers for their tireless efforts in serving the nation, preserving Indian culture, and fostering unity.
