New Delhi, October 2 (HS): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday condoled the death of eminent vocalist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Pandit Chhannulal Mishra, calling it an irreplaceable loss to the Indian musical tradition.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister wrote, “Pandit ji dedicated his life to the preservation and promotion of Indian classical music through raga, devotion, and deep spiritual practice. His singing will always remain a source of inspiration for music lovers and practitioners alike.”
It is noteworthy that Pandit Chhannulal Mishra passed away at the age of 89 on Thursday after a prolonged illness.
Delhi’s Education Minister Ashish Sood also expressed grief on X, writing, “The demise of Pandit Chhannulal Mishra, an eminent vocalist of Indian classical music and Padma Vibhushan awardee, is deeply saddening.”
