Chennai, 19 October (H.S.) : A man was arrested for allegedly touching a 38-year-old woman IT professional inappropriately on a flight from Chennai to Hyderabad, police said on Sunday,19th October 2025.
A male passenger was arrested by police in Hyderabad for allegedly touching a 38-year-old woman inappropriately on a flight traveling from Chennai to Hyderabad. The incident occurred on Friday, October 17, 2025. The accused, a man in his mid-40s who works in Chennai and was traveling to Uttar Pradesh via Hyderabad, was reportedly in a drunken state during the flight.
The victim, an IT professional, was seated next to her husband, with the accused passenger sitting beside them. The couple had fallen asleep, and as the flight was preparing to land at the Hyderabad airport, the woman woke up feeling someone touch her inappropriately. She immediately noticed the man's hand and raised an alarm.
Following the landing of the flight, the woman lodged a formal complaint with the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police. A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The accused was subsequently arrested. During questioning, the man claimed that he had touched her accidentally. Police have confirmed that a further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
