Guwahati, 19 October (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Assam on the auspicious occasions of Kali Puja and Deepawali, urging everyone to celebrate the festival with a sense of environmental responsibility.
In his message, the Governor highlighted that Kali Puja symbolizes the awakening of inner strength to overcome fear and darkness. He urged people to celebrate the festival in a spirit of togetherness, compassion and harmony.
“We celebrate Deepawali to commemorate the triumph of truth, hope and light. The festival reminds us that the light of wisdom and righteousness resides within each of us,” Acharya said. “Let this festival inspire us to strengthen our community bonds and work towards a more harmonious and inclusive society.”
The Governor also emphasized the importance of environmental consciousness during the celebrations. He appealed to citizens to adopt eco-friendly practices, minimize noise and air pollution, and protect natural resources.
