Kolkata, 18 October (H.S.): Kolkata Police raided Canal South Road on Saturday morning and arrested 14 people for gambling. The police recovered ₹530,000 in cash and 11 packets of cards from the arrested individuals. The police also seized several important documents during this operation. According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, the police raided a room on the second floor of Rising Guest House, number 203. All the arrested accused are said to be residents of Kolkata. Allegedly, they were gambling in the room and that large sums of cash were being transacted during the time. An FIR has been registered in this case under various sections of the BNS. The police have sought police custody for the accused.
