Bhubaneswar, 18 October (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Jay Dholakia on Friday filed his nomination papers for the upcoming Nuapada Assembly by-election.
Dholakia submitted his nomination before the Returning Officer amid a grand procession that started from Khariar Road and passed through various parts of the town before culminating at the Sub-Collector’s office.
The event witnessed the presence of several senior BJP leaders, including the party’s state president Manmohan Samal, ministers Rabinarayan Naik and Ganesh R. Singhkhuntia, along with a number of sitting MLAs and party workers.
Expressing optimism over his prospects, Dholakia said he was confident that the BJP’s strong grassroots connect and people’s faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would ensure a resounding victory for the party in the bypoll.
