Kolkata, 17 October (H.S.) — A police constable from Narayangarh Police Station died in a motorbike accident on Thursday night in the Mohanpur area of West Midnapore district.

According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Arpan Jana, aged around 32 years. He was on his way to Midnapore on a motorcycle when his bike reportedly collided with the rear of a truck, leading to the fatal crash.

Following the incident, Kharagpur Local Police reached the spot and recovered the body of the deceased officer. Arpan Jana was a resident of Thegamara area in Rohini.

The accident has cast a shadow of grief over the local community and among his colleagues in the police department. The authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
