Bhubaneswar, 17 October (H.S.): Four Odia pilgrims on their way to seek blessings at the Maa Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir met with a tragic road accident near Katra in Jammu district. Three of them died on the spot, while one woman sustained critical injuries.
According to an official press release issued by the Odisha Paribar Nirdeshalaya, Government of Odisha, immediate arrangements have been made to bring back the mortal remains of the three deceased pilgrims to Odisha. The operation is being coordinated jointly by the Office of the Chief Resident Commissioner of Odisha in New Delhi, the Odisha Paribar Nirdeshalaya, and the Subarnapur District Administration.
The deceased have been identified as Bichitra Kumar Sahu, Yogindra Matari, and Kavita Sahu, all hailing from Subarnapur district. The injured pilgrim, Snehalata Matari, also from Subarnapur, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jammu.
The press release further mentioned that the state government is ensuring all necessary medical assistance and support for the injured pilgrim, while extending condolences to the bereaved families.
