Indian, Nepali Army Chiefs Meet to Strengthen Bilateral Defense Ties


Delhi, 17 October (H.S.): Following a conference for military chiefs from United Nations Troop-Contributing Countries (UNTCC) held in the capital from October 14-16, Deputy Chief of the Nepali Army, Lieutenant General Pradeep Jung KC, held a bilateral meeting with India's Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, here on Friday.

According to a statement issued by the Nepali Army from Kathmandu, the meeting at the Indian Army headquarters focused on further advancing the deep historical, cultural, and professional ties between the two armed forces. The discussions emphasized strengthening the enduring relationship shared by the two armies.The two military officials exchanged views on bolstering defense cooperation, enhancing joint training initiatives, and deepening collaboration in United Nations peacekeeping missions.

The statement noted that UN peacekeeping is an area where both nations have earned global acclaim for their significant contributions.

General Dwivedi and Lieutenant General KC reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular institutional exchanges and defense dialogues. They also stressed the importance of strengthening operational synergy and regional stability through continued cooperation between the two neighboring armies.
