Srinagar, 17 October (H.S.): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chowdhary today said the Government will complete pending projects and answer questions of people at the end of its five-year term.

While speaking to reporters here, he said, “You have given us a mandate for five years. After that, you can ask us any question. My leaders, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, along with the entire cabinet, will sit before you. We will keep a copy of our manifesto in one hand and the record of our work in the other. We will also complete the projects left incomplete during the 11 years of BJP, PDP, and LG rule,” he said.

Chowdhary urged journalists to question previous Governments for their unfulfilled promises. “Ask why daily wagers were not regularised in the last 11 years. Ask about the irregularities in Sub-Inspector recruitment, the pending cases of SPOs, fire and emergency aspirants, and others. Hold them accountable,” he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister also raised concerns over the alleged mismanagement of the Rs. 28,000-crore industrial package announced for Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that local industrialists and small traders did not benefit from it. “Where did that money go? The industries in Jammu and Kashmir say they got nothing. If people have doubts, there should be an inquiry,” he said.

He alleged that his security was withdrawn after he raised questions about the use of these funds. “I am not hungry for security. I came here to meet the people who are preserving our heritage, not to hold a long press conference,” he said.
