Guwahati, 17 October (HS): The Regional Office of the National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), Guwahati, in collaboration with NERIM Group of Institutions, organized an essay competition and awareness programme on Friday to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the National Sample Survey (NSS).

Director N. Mohandas Singh highlighted the role of NSS in nation-building, policy formulation and data-driven decision-making. Prof. Sangita Tripathi, Director of NERIM, familiarized students with the importance of large-scale surveys.

Students from various colleges participated in the essay competition on the topic “Challenges in Educating Large-Scale Surveys.” Participants were awarded certificates and winners will receive medals and certificates.-------
