(HS): Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited have employed 68 Naxalites who have
surrendered and members of 14 families affected by Naxalite violence in
Gadchiroli. Even with limited education, they are being imparted vocational training
at the company’s Skill Development Centre.
Maharashtra chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
appreciated initiative by the LMEL after its Managing Director Prabhakaran announced
training and jobs for the surrendered Naxalites.
Lloyds Metals operates Iron Ore Mining in Surajagad and
DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) Plant in Konsari
in Etapalli Tehsil of Gadchiroli district.. LMEL, so far, has trained
1,400 local youths and hundreds more are undergoing training.
