Ballia, 16 Oct (HS): Two offenders, including a
murder suspect, were apprehended following separate encounters in the Bairia
and Sikandarpur neighborhoods of this city early Thursday, according to police.
According to Superintendent of Police Omveer Singh, the initial confrontation
occurred about 1 a.m. in Bairia. A police squad directed a motorbike to halt at
the Chanddiar Jayprakash Nagar embankment road in Risal Rai, but the rider
raced away, resulting in a pursuit. When surrounded, he opened fire on the
police, who replied in self-defense, hurting the accused in the right leg,
according to Singh. The wounded rider, Dharmendra Yadav (28) of Sonbarsa
village, was taken into custody and brought to the district hospital after
receiving first care at the Sonbarsa community health facility, according to
the SP. He said that cops found a
country-made revolver and ammo on him. Yadav was wanted in a murder case filed on October 14 under
numerous provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and he was apparently
attempting to flee to Bihar, the SP stated.
In another instance, at 4.30 a.m.,
Sikandarpur Police stopped another motorbike along the Khareed River Road.
The motorcyclist attempted to run
but slid, and when cornered, shot at the cops.
He was wounded in the right leg in retaliation, they added. The accused, Shamim Qureshi alias Sonu
(23) of Bharatpur village, is charged with various crimes, according to
authorities. Police claimed
they also discovered a country-made weapon and ammunition from him. According to authorities, both of the
injured suspects are receiving medical care while in police custody.
