Lucknow, 16 Oct (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday paid his last respects to Sant Shiromani Shri Sai Chanduram Sahib Ji, the prominent religious leader of the Sindhi community. In a post on X, he remarked, “Today in Lucknow, I paid my last respects to Sant Shiromani Shri Sai Chanduram Sahib Ji, the prominent religious leader of the Sindhi community and the head of the Shiv Shanti Sant Asudaram Ashram. Sant Shiromani Shri Sai Chanduram Sahib Ji served humanity throughout his life with compassion, love, and a spirit of coexistence. I pray to Lord Jhulelal to grant this virtuous soul a place in his holy feet.”

Earlier, in another post, he stated, “The passing of Sant Shiromani Shri Sai Chanduram Sahib Ji, a prominent religious leader of the Sindhi community and the head of the revered Shri Shanti Ashram, is deeply saddening and an irreparable loss to the spiritual community. My humble tributes to him! My condolences are with his grieving followers. I pray to Lord Jhulelal to grant the saint a place in his holy feet and grant the bereaved followers the strength to bear this immeasurable loss. Om Shanti!”

Sant Sai Chanduram Sahib (78), head of the Shiv Shanti Sant Asudaram Ashram on VIP Road in Alambagh and a religious leader of the Sindhi community, passed away at a private hospital on Wednesday afternoon. He had been ill for several days. He breathed his last at 12:28 pm. Upon receiving the news of his passing, a wave of grief swept through the Sindhi community. Within a short time, a crowd of thousands gathered from the hospital to the Sant Asudaram Ashram. Sant Sai Chanduram Sahib was born on September 9, 1947, in the Sukkur district of Sindh province, Pakistan. His father was Sant Asudaram Sahib. Following in the footsteps of Sindh's Shiromani Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib, Amar Shaheed Bhagat Kanwarram Sahib, and Sant Baba Asudaram Sahib, Sant Sai Chanduram Sahib assumed the Guru Gaddi at the age of just 13.

He emigrated from Pakistan to India in 1976. At the special request of his devotees, he came to Lucknow. On June 6, 1977, he laid the foundation stone of the Shiv Shanti Ashram. It was run by Saint Sai Chanduram, who was the head of the ashram. As a guru of the Sindhi community, he was revered not only in Lucknow but also throughout the state, country, and abroad, with millions of followers. Sindhu Sabha President Ashok Motiani said he breathed his last at Medanta Hospital in the capital. Upon receiving news of his death, thousands of people from all walks of life, including the Sindhi community, flocked to the Sant Asudaram Ashram.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed grief, the last rites will be performed today: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Sindhi religious leader Sant Sai Chanduram Sahib. He said that Sant Shiromani Sai Chanduram's entire life was dedicated to the service of the poor and helpless people of the society. His demise has caused an irreparable loss to the society. Rajnath Singh prayed for the peace of the departed soul. Sindhu Sabha President Ashok Motiani said that the last rites of Sant Sai Chanduram Sahib will be performed on Thursday at Baikunth Dham in Alambagh. The last journey will start from Sant Kanwarram Sahib Square in Alambagh and will depart for Baikunth Dham via Sant Asudaram Ashram, where the last rites will be performed at around 1 pm. Thousands of followers from India and abroad will join his journey.

CM Yogi expressed grief, Deputy Chief Minister paid his last respects: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences, saying that Baba Sai's passing marks the end of an era. We are all fortunate that such a great man was born in our society and worked tirelessly day and night for the welfare of all. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also visited the Sant Asudaram Ashram on VIP Road on Wednesday evening. He paid his last respects and offered heartfelt tributes. Sindhi community official Sanjay Jeswani stated that the last darshan will be offered throughout Wednesday night and until Thursday noon. Cheti Chand Mela Committee Chairman Ratan Meghani stated that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his condolences and announced that he will visit the Sant Asudaram Ashram on October 18. Former Academy Vice President Nanak Lakhmani, Sindhu Sabha President Ashok Motiani, Shyam Krishanani, Cheti Chand Mela Committee Chairman Ratan Meghani, General Secretary Sanjay Jeswani, and Treasurer Satendra Bhavnani expressed their deep sorrow.
